There are several limitations during your trial period:

1. The max file size limit is 1GiB (instead of 5GiB with a paid subscription)
2. You can only record 500 recordings per day
3. You can't use the watermark feature
4. A watermark (the Pipe logo) will be added to most video recordings

You pay a flat monthly fee, plus extra only if your usage goes beyond it.

How usage works

Your monthly fee includes video processing up to its value. If your usage exceeds the monthly fee, you pay for the extra minutes at the rates below.

Charges are based on video resolution; the higher the resolution, the higher the per-minute rate, like shown in the recording prices lower on the page.

Example

You're on the Standard Plan ($50/month):

• If your total processing cost for the month is $40, you only pay $50 (the monthly fee).
• If your total processing cost is $70, you pay $50 + $20 extra.

How many minutes are included in the flat monthly fee?

The Standard plan ($50/mo) covers the cost of recording up to 5000 minutes of audio only, 2500 minutes of video in web resolution or 1666 in SD resolution, while the PRO plan ($250/mo) covers the cost of recording up to 25000 minutes of audio only, 12500 minutes of video in web resolution, 8333 in SD resolution, 5000 in HD resolution, and so forth.

Other

98% of our clients never exceed their monthly subscription payments. If you're part of the other 2%, you will be charged for the extra usage through the invoice/charge for the next billing period.

Transcoding engine: for billing purposes videos that go through a transformation will be priced at the rate corresponding to their original resolution.

Original recordings, if kept, will be priced separately at the same rates.

This is the price per minute for audio recordings and video recordings in different resolutions:

• audio recordings: 1¢/min
• web (320p) video recordings: 2¢/min
• SD (480p) video recordings: 3¢/min
• HD (720p) video recordings: 5¢/min
• FullHD & 2K video recordings: 10¢/min
• 4K video recordings: 15¢/min

You only pay extra if the usage during the monthly billing cycle exceeds the flat monthly fee of $50/mo or $250/mo.

With the Standard plan you pay $50/month and you can record up to 5000 minutes of audio/month.

With the PRO plan you pay $250/month and you can record up to 25000 minutes of audio/month.

Any audio recordings beyond the usage above will be charged extra at $0.01/minute together with the next subscription payment.

We also provide detailed usage information accurate to the hundred of a millisecond in case you go over your monthly recording quota included in the subscription price.

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Your next payment will proportionately reflect the number of days you've used each of the two plans.

Most clients use the 14 days trial to implement Pipe in their web sites or apps but you can upgrade from a trial to a paid subscription right away.

VAT is applied when you (or the company making the purchase) are from the EU, and you are not registered for VAT in your country.

We offer volume discounts when recording more than 10k video minutes/month as per the table below. All prices are per minute. We do not round up.
