A recorder on any WordPress page, from a shortcode.

The official AddPipe plugin adds browser audio, video and screen recording to posts, pages, forms and quiz questions. Fill in two settings, paste a shortcode, and your visitors can record without installing anything.

No plugin-shaped compromises

The recorder is the same client that runs on the rest of the AddPipe platform, so mobile Safari, camera selection, resolution control and mp4 output all behave exactly as they do everywhere else.

Nothing to host

Recordings never touch your WordPress server. They upload to AddPipe, are transcoded there, and your host never has to store or serve a video file.

It goes where shortcodes go

Posts, pages, custom post types, page builders, and the question text of Tutor LMS and LearnDash quizzes.

Three ways people use it.

On a page or post

Collect testimonials, applications or support requests by putting a recorder next to a form. The shortcode goes anywhere content goes.

In a quiz question

Spoken answers in Tutor LMS and LearnDash, for language practice, presentations and vivas.

Pushed onward

Recordings can be pushed from AddPipe to your own S3 bucket, Dropbox or Box, so WordPress is the front end and your storage is the system of record.

Recordings always appear in your AddPipe dashboard. With the webhook key set, they also list in the plugin's Recordings screen inside WordPress admin.

Details.

What do I need before installing the plugin?

An AddPipe account. The plugin needs your account hash and an environment code, both from your AddPipe dashboard, plus optionally a webhook key so recordings also list inside WordPress.

How do I put a recorder on a page?

Generate a shortcode on the plugin's Embed Recorder page, then paste it into a post or page. In the block editor use a Shortcode block; in the classic editor switch to Text mode.

Can I have more than one recorder on the same page?

Yes. The same shortcode can be repeated on one page as long as lazy loading is enabled.

Where do the recordings end up?

Always in your AddPipe dashboard. If you also set the webhook key, they list in the plugin's Recordings screen inside WordPress admin. From AddPipe you can push them on to your own S3 bucket, Dropbox or Box.

Does it work with page builders and LMS plugins?

Anywhere a shortcode renders. That includes Tutor LMS 4 and later, in Open Ended question descriptions, and LearnDash, in Essay and Open Answer question text.

Does this slow the page down?

The recorder loads lazily, so the recording client is fetched when the recorder is needed rather than on every page view.
